PARKS FOR LIFE

Planting Seeds for the Future

The Rockford Park District is proud of what it has accomplished since 1909. So much of what the community enjoys today is possible because of the generosity displayed by the citizens of Rockford. They have given millions of dollars worth of land, funds, stocks, in-kind gifts, and volunteer time. In fact, 40% of the more than 4,919 acres the Park District owns was donated.

Imagine what the community would be like without the Rockford Park District. There would be no Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens, Aldeen Golf Club, Olson Park, City of Gardens, or the Learning Links at Ingersoll Golf Course. The community would not be able to enjoy the beautification and improvements made to wonderful parks including Aldeen, Page, Levings, Beattie, Kaye Anderson, Keye Mallquist, and Southwest Community Park. All of these were gifts to the Rockford Park District Foundation made by citizens that believed in the Rockford Park District’s values.

What type of legacy do you want to leave?

A legacy isn’t only about leaving what you earned, but leaving what you believe in.

People like Norris and Margaret Aldeen, Ab and Nancy Nicholas, Roland and Gladys Olson, Dan and Ruth Nicholas, and Jane Lyons, believe in the Park District and its mission of “Helping People Enjoy Life.”

The opportunities are endless to leave your legacy for generations to come by supporting YOUR Park District.

What’s important to you? How do you want your life to touch others?

Consider “Parks for Life”

“Parks for Life” recognizes individuals and families who have placed the Rockford Park District Foundation in their estate plans. Membership is by written confirmation of your deferred gift arrangements. Your gift can change lives, change the face of a park, or support youth programs of the Rockford Park District. Your gift can provide ongoing funding for capital projects within the Park District, or an unrestricted gift will allow us to support areas of greatest need within the Park District throughout the years. The benefit to you and your family will be more than financial; you will be ensuring that future generations will have the quality parks and recreation we enjoy today.

When you become a “Parks for Life” member, you will annually receive a complimentary admission pass to one of our Park District facilities! So, you really do get to enjoy “Parks for Life.”

“All good men and women must take responsibility to create legacies that will take the
next generation to a level we could only imagine.
