“Double The Hoofprint”

With your support, every step our horses take becomes two. Together, we can double the hoofprint and change twice as many lives at Lockwood Park.

Current Equine Assisted Services (EAS) demand is outpacing the number of therapy horses available at Perks Family Equine Center. Having additional therapy horses will allow proper rotation, ensuring each horse gets the downtime it needs while still meeting the growing demand for services.

Therapy horses are the foundation of EAS, providing comfort, confidence, and healing to children and teens. A therapy horse offers a non-judgmental connection and a safe space to build trust.

On average, acquiring and preparing a therapy horse costs up to $25,000. A well cared for therapy horse can serve for 10-15 years, making this not only a life-changing resource for youth, but also a strong and lasting investment.

The “Double the Hoofprint” campaign will expand both the reach of EAS programs and the literal hoofprints of new therapy horses.

The Lach and Jan Perks family have committed a $100,000 matching donation to support the purchase of therapy horses. Each gift given toward the campaign will be matched dollar for dollar.
