Provenzano Family Skating Fund

In honor of the Provenzano family’s generous support for Riverview Ice House, the District has started a new charitable fund in the Foundation named the Provenzano Family Skating Fund. The fund will provide financial support to area youth who want to skate, and will help cover participation costs, equipment needs, travel expenses, and outreach.  The Provenzano family announced that they are committed to a matching gift of $25,000 in the hopes that other community members will pledge their support.

“Equitable access, downtown visitation, synergy with the Chicago Blackhawks, and the legacy of the facility are just a few reasons that people stepped up to support Riverview Ice House, including our family. We look forward to what it will be like for future generations and the memories their whole family will create in downtown Rockford. However, we also know skating isn’t cheap and hope others will also want to do more to eliminate the inequity and financial disparity associated with the sport,” said Peter Provenzano.
