HANGING BASKET PROGRAM

The Rockford Park District's City of Gardens adds to the beauty seen throughout our community during spring and summer with our hanging basket program. The program began in 1999 with just 18 experimental baskets and quickly blossomed to more than 200 baskets that line our downtown and surrounding area streets and bridges. Our hanging basket initiative has received national recognition by "America in Bloom", and received the state Hometown Award for volunteerism. Many other communities emulate our program.

We believe flowers and gardens raise our spirits and make our community a more pleasant place to live, work, and visit. Donors are greatly appreciated, and are wonderful sources of pride for our community.
